Care & keep.
A little care keeps a piece looking the way it did when it arrived. These are general guides; where a piece has its own care note on its page, follow that.
Cottons
Hand-wash in cold water with mild soap for the first few washes, and wash darker colours separately, as some dyes release a little colour at first. Dry in the shade. Iron on the reverse while slightly damp.
Block prints
Hand-wash in cold water with mild soap. Do not scrub or brush the printed area. Wash separately for the first three washes and dry in the shade.
Embroidered pieces
Dry-clean for the first two washes. After that, hand-wash gently in cold water. Do not wring; press between two towels. Iron on the reverse over a soft cloth.
Silks and blends
Dry-clean only. Store wrapped in cotton, not plastic, and refold every few months so creases do not set. Iron on low heat over a cotton cloth.
For every piece
- Use cold water and mild soap. No bleach.
- Dry in the shade, not in direct sun.
- Iron on the reverse.
- Store folded, away from damp and direct light.
